What benefits does moviebakery offer?

Too many to list!;-) Well, here is a snapshot:

moviebakery gets you in touch with your target groups. They'll produce the content for you.
Low cost + high quality: We offer the best of both worlds - agency expertise coupled with the cost benefits of user generated content.
An outburst of creativity: Our community will provide ideas you have never thought of. At the same time our prefessional team will make sure the ideas are relevant. You get to select the bests ideas and can see them turned in action!
Our team works closely with the movie makers to ensure that you avoid the classic shortcomings of crow sourcing contests or other forms of user generate content: Many great ideas come up short because they weren't full developed. We see this all the time. It doesn't have to happen to your videos!

Which movie makers produce for clients of moviebakery?

Initially we were surprised to see a strong interest of many seasoned and very talented movie makers in moviebakery. Our talent pool includes some of the top artists on YouTube, YouTube Oscar nominees, TV producers, artists running their own production companies etc..

Some of our movie makers have millions of views on YouTube and some of them are still unknown. Sometimes the lesser known artists develop the most original ideas - so we are glad to have plenty of variety in our creative talent pool.

What can the videos be used for?

We include the option to place your videos in the leading web video platforms in our basic package. It is still the most popular use to publish videos on the Internet.
We can include your videos as premium content on some leading web video platforms.
Another popular use are Google video ads.
They can also be embedded content on your web site.
Your videos could also been used at trade shows or even as commercials in movie theatres.
We are constantly sourcing new opportunities including TV and mobile channels.

The videos you purchase are generally in web video quality. If a you would prefer a higher resolution format, moviebakery can provide you with an attractive rate per video that protects the interest of the video makers and their actors.

Please note:
Not all our video makers are filming in high definition formats, but many of them do.

Does moviebakery produce videos for every client?

Yes but... We select our movie makers and we also have a few requirements for our clients. We need to be able to support your product. If we think that your product or service won't succeed we'll let you know. If we can't support your goals for moral or ethical reasons we will also reject an order. This will apply to all efforts to discriminate, promote racism or the distribution of pornography. Of course you would never do such a thing so we shouldn't have a problem with each other;-)

Why shouldn't a company contact movie makers directly via YouTube & Co?

Of course we don't take that option away from anyone. Here are some of the reasons that led us to the start of moviebakery in spite of clients talking to movie makers directly:

Selecting and negotiating with movie makers takes plenty of time = money. We have already done this work for you. We spent many hours selecting our movie makers and developing relationships with our creative talent.
Trust. We know our talent. You know who we are.
Distributing a video is an additional task for you. Why not use our experience?
You benefit from our experience in developing creative ideas and finding the best distribution channel for your movies. We are experts in guerilla and viral marketing and know the world of electronic media inside out.
Some movie makers don't like to be contacted directly and are reluctant to work for corporate clients. moviebakery has established relationships with movie makers that are ready and eager to work for you.
Avoid the pitfalls of regular crowd sourcing or other user generated content models.

Can every movie maker participate at moviebakery?

A movie maker needs to show us her/his work first and needs to submit a profile. moviebakery is entirely based on our clients receiving quality work. If we decide that the movie maker meets our requirements and has potential she/he will be added to our creative talent pool.

How does moviebakery select its movie makers?

Creativity and the ability to turn creative ideas into some thing visually appealing are the top criteria for us. This requires quite a set of skills but doesn't necessarily mean that all our movie makers are film school graduates. The advance of digital camera technology allows many ambitious persons with a creative mind to create outstanding content for the web.

Are all movie makers experts in marketing and commercial video production?

No. Many of the best creative ideas on the web are submitted from outsiders and we are trying to get you a maximum diversity of concepts. Of course professionals with plenty of experience are strongly represented at moviebakery as well. We measure the potential of our movie makers based on their existing work - not on degrees on their resumes.

Does a company get to select the movie makers for their videos?

No. This would limit our approach to unleash the creativity of our movie makers for your maximum benefit. You can send us your criteria and specifics and we will decide who will submit ideas and produce the videos. In this way you participate in the selection process. We know our movie makers and will pick the best candidates for you. It is our mission to make the whole process from placing your order to the delivery of your movies as hassle free as possible. At the same time moviebakery still ensures the best possible quality for you.

Does a company get to select the language of its videos?

Right now we offer movies in English & German. We have movie makers from over 40 countries in our pool and are able to handle other requests as well. If you want to include a message in a foreign language we can also add it in the form of text. As
moviebakery grows we are planning to add the option to produce movies in more foreign languages. If you want your movies to travel the world, a movie without words or in English language are still your best options.

Are your videos of full professional quality?

No. Many of our movie makers work with HD cameras and some work with a full professional rig. Therefore we are able to deliver videos in TV quality as well that can even be used in movie theatre advertising.

But many of the most successful Internet videos are small in size and often have a rough look. They are made especially for the medium Internet.

Of course we emphasize quality in the movie production process. We review each video to make sure it meets our quality standards.

Is it possible to supply product samples to the movie makers that will be used in my videos?

Yes. You will have to submit your samples to conceptbakery (our mailing address can be found here). We will forward the samples to the movie makers that have been selected to produce videos for you. You would have to cover the additional shipping cost to the movie makers. If your product samples are inexpensive and widely available we could also just have the movie makers locate them at their nearest destination. Digital samples can also be supplied to us and will be forwarded to the movie makers.

Does every pitch get turned into a video?

No. Only the ideas that meet our requirements (creative, funny, creating attention..) will be considered for production. Our in-house creative team works with the movie makers to develop ideas that can become successful. Based on the package you select you will either receive a bundle of ideas to choose from or we do the selection for you.

How long do the video production usually take?

The time span between placing an order and receiving your 10 videos depends on your order. The usual turnaround is between six to twelve weeks. But of course we are able to move faster. The following factors determine how long your videos will take:

Idea development:
We need solid concepts. This depends on the appeal of your service or product and our creativity. Some projects are simply easier than others. You might also want to budget some tie to review our ideas.
Production time:
Production usually takes around 4 weeks. Some artist might have a busy schedule and might take a bit longer (Of course our movie makers are inspired to produce as fast as possible - that gets them paid).
Unforeseen evens:
We went through over 100 productions so far. Most of them went ahead as planned but we have seen anything from natural disasters to personal mishaps delaying production as planned. And you thought an ice storm in Michigan or a hard drive failure in Nebraska had nothing to do with you;-)

Who decides which ideas will get turned into videos?

We do the development and the pre-selection of ideas for you. We then send our favorites to you and offer you the option to do the final selection - unless you are opting for the "Blind Date" package and trust our intuition.

Will every video be shown to the client and get published on the web?

Not necessarily. A video needs to meet our quality standards and has to be in line with the your project briefing. Otherwise we will ask the video producer for a re-edit or re-shoot of the video before it is show to you.

Who decides which video(s) will be published?

You are the client. These are your videos. You get to decide what to do with it:

Which videos will be published, when and were is your call. moviebakery and in some cases the video producers themselves can do the initial seeding but we will be waiting for your OK.

What happens with videos that were produced but won't be published?

The client owns the rights to the movies they paid for. If the client decides against publishing a particular video it won't be published by the video maker or by
movie
bakery
. This is one of the benefits vs. regular crowd sourcing: You stay in control of how and where you are being represented with your videos.

Who owns the rights to the ideas and to the videos?

If a pitch is being presented to you, you can use the idea for your own purposes. If a video is being produced for you, you get to decide how to use it.

How about copyrighted material in videos (music etc..)?

No trouble with the big dogs please. All our movie makers guarantee full compliance with the copyright laws. A client has the option to provide copyrighted material (logos, sound etc...) during the ordering process.

In this case, the client is responsible for eventual copyright violations resulting from the use of that material.

What happens if I order videos but no pitches or videos are getting delivered?

We are here to make videos for you. We should close shop if we couldn't do it. There is only exception: Your project conditions can't be met by us because of budget or other constraints. Our movie makers can't be expected to blow up a helicopter for the budget they have. If we don't receive any pitches, you will be notified before your second payment and your first payment will be reimbursed.

We will most probably shoot ourselves in that event. Right after we sent you your money back;-)

When are my payments due?

There are two payments: 50% is due upon placing an order. We will send you an invoice. This payment will trigger the pitching process and gets our video makers to work. The second payment is due once all videos are ready to by reviewed by the client.
